Anatexis indicates the conditions under which rocks begin to melt, producing a magma of granitic composition: the rocks undergo partial melting. These rocks, called migmatites or anatexites, are constituted by alternating light (granitic magmatic) and dark (metamorphic) layers. The light-coloured layers are composed of quartz (grey) and feldspar (white) ; These levels show a grained texture of magmatic rocks. On the contrary, in the darker levels, the planar texture of the metamorphic rocks is well preserved, highlighted here by the black micas (biotite).
